Revitalizing ACGC 5–12 Campus
Designing for Generations to Come
Originally built in 1912, the ACGC 5–12 building had evolved through decades of additions, resulting in aging infrastructure and varied elevations. In 2018, district voters united to support a referendum funding critical improvements — demonstrating a shared investment in the future of their school and community.
LHB led the planning and architectural design, collaborating with the ACGC School Board’s Building Oversight Committee to align priorities with educational goals and community values. The result: a thoughtful, cost-effective renovation that enhances safety, reduces long-term operating costs, and reimagines learning environments.
Key upgrades included a secure entry, energy-efficient HVAC systems, and solar panels. Structural preservation and weatherproofing protect the building’s legacy, while refreshed interiors and flexible, tech-ready classrooms support collaboration and school pride. Every design decision reflects the community’s visions — ensuring the school remains a vibrant, adaptable space for generations to come.

A Safer School Welcome
The redesigned front entry emphasizes safety and visibility. A new reception window improves supervision of student arrivals, while upgraded systems support secure access. The reconfigured layout enhances both functionality and peace of mind for the entire school community.

A Fresh First Impression
The renovated administrative area welcomes staff and visitors with fresh finishes, a secure vestibule, and a calm, modern atmosphere. Designed for comfort and efficiency, the space fosters stronger connections and supports a more effective school environment.
