Home Away from Home

Ronald McDonald Houses provide a safe and comforting environment for families to stay as they go through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. They provide meals and housing at no cost, reducing the financial stresses these families face and offering families the ability to stay close together as their children receive the medical care they need.

Thanks to a partnership between Essentia Health Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities Upper Midwest, LHB designed the Ronald McDonald House on the Essentia Health Campus in Duluth, MN. The house creates a “home away from home” for up to five families at a time, providing bedrooms, a community living room, laundry machines, full kitchen, pantry and more.
