Duluth International Airport/MnANG
Joint Fire Station
Ready to Respond
This 25,500 SF facility is an FAA Index B Airport Rescue and Firefighting Station that serves both the Duluth International Airport and the Minnesota Air National Guard, as well as providing mutual aid emergency response to surrounding communities. The design for the two-phased project includes centralized living and support areas with apparatus bays on either side to minimize travel distances and allow for future expansion. Eight drive-through apparatus bays were integrated. Materials were selected to match current guard base and airport facilities, and to be durable, low maintenance, and long-lasting. Many materials contain recycled content. High-efficiency equipment and low-flow fixtures are used.
