LHB Announces Professional Recognitions and New Hires

Minnesota and Wisconsin; (August 29, 2019) – LHB, Inc. is pleased to announce the following professional recognitions and new employees to our Duluth and Minneapolis, MN offices:

Austen Bryan, PE is now licensed in Minnesota as a Professional Engineer. Austen joined LHB in 2014 and works with LHB’s Pipeline group. Austen provides electrical engineering services including pipeline and pump station design and power and control applications, including power loading calculations and analysis. Austen graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with his bachelor of science in electrical engineering. Dylan Mattson, PE, CDT is now licensed in Minnesota as a Professional Engineer. Dylan joined LHB in 2012 and works with LHB’s Pipeline group. Dylan provides mechanical engineering services including pipe layout, material specifications, and construction support. Dylan graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with his bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. David Polson, PE is now licensed in Minnesota as a Professional Engineer. David joined LHB in 2014 and works with LHB’s Public Works group. David provides site grading, hydraulic, sanitary and storm sewer, and watermain design and modeling for public and private clients. Sara Phillips, AIA, LEED AP is now a licensed architect in Wisconsin. She has been with LHB since 2006 and leads the Higher Education Studio. Sara is also involved in mentoring K-12 students through the American Institute of Architects Minnesota Architecture in the Schools Committee and the STEP-UP Achieve program. Bailey Hanson, AIA, LEED Green Assoc. is now a licensed architect in Minnesota. Bailey joined LHB in 2018 and primarily works in LHB’s Housing Studio. Bailey has a background in human health and holistic sustainable design. Professionally, she has worked on projects in education, single family residential and affordable housing. Nicolle VanWie, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP joins the Minneapolis office as a Senior Architect. Nicolle brings over 20 years of sustainable design & housing experience for a wide variety of public and private clients. She is an active member of the American Institute of Architects, Minnesota Chapter, the International WELL Building Institute, the local Wellness Collaborative, and the United States Green Building Council. Rachel Marsh joins the Minneapolis office as a Designer. Rachel recently graduated with her master of architecture from North Dakota State University. Rachel served as Class Representative within the Department of Architecture at NDSU and as a Recruitment Counselor for the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Chris Fleege, MBA, PE joins the Duluth office as a Structural Engineer and Management Consultant. Chris brings over 30 years of utility and operations leadership experience. Martin Thompson, AIA, LEED AP joins the Minneapolis office as a Senior Architect. Martin qualifies as a Historic Architect per the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards. Patrick Dalbec joins the Duluth office as a Structural Designer. Patrick graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with his bachelor of science in civil engineering in May of 2016.
