Jason Mangan Chosen to Lead LHB

LHB is pleased to announce that Jason Mangan, P.E., has been named Chief Executive Officer of LHB, an engineering, architecture, and planning firm with offices in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

A trained mechanical engineer, Mangan replaces Rick Carter, FAIA, LEED Fellow, who will remain chairman of LHB’s board of directors until the end of 2024. Mangan previously led the firm’s Energy & Industry group, where he oversaw work for clients in a wide range of industries, including pulp and paper, mining and heavy manufacturing, oil and gas, and power and utilities.

“Jason’s management skills, familiarity with our culture, and knowledge of energy markets made him the perfect choice to lead LHB’s next chapter,” Carter said. “I’m excited to see him lead LHB, our staff, and our clients to the next level as we move ahead.”

CEO, Jason Mangan

In recent years, Mangan has shaped and managed LHB’s strategies for expanding work in solar, wind, and biomass energy production and transmission. He is also deeply familiar with the design, installation, and operation of pipelines and power infrastructure.

“As the world changes, our clients are eager to position themselves to survive and thrive,” Mangan says. “LHB is uniquely positioned to help companies across a wide range of industries as they weather the energy transition and seek to reduce their carbon footprint. As engineers, architects and planners, we are committed to designing buildings, structures and systems that will help clients and communities successfully navigate the future.”

Mangan began his career at LHB in 1998 as a student intern and believes strongly in the value of mentorship opportunities and ongoing professional education. He is a member of the engineering department’s Industry Advisory Board at the University of Minnesota Duluth and serves as a volunteer mentor for the high-school robotics team in Cloquet, Minn., where he grew up and still lives with his family. He has been a past member of the City of Cloquet Planning Commission and is currently an assistant scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 171.

Vice President – Energy & Industry, Brian Santori

LHB has named Brian Santori, P.E. to succeed Mangan as vice president of LHB’s Energy & Industry group. Formerly an engineering principal in Energy & Industry, Santori joined LHB in 2006 and has nearly 20 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, specializing in design of process, power, hazardous liquid, and natural gas transmission piping systems. In recent years, he has also served on LHB’s Tomorrow’s Design team, a group focused on the future impact of the company’s design work. He is based in Minneapolis. ∎
