Commercial Studio Leader
LHB is looking for a Commercial Studio Leader with a passion for relationships, design, and business development. You will lead strategic growth within the mixed-use, commercial, and retail markets. This position is part of our Integrative Design Team (IDT) that creates high performance buildings and sites for Commercial, Education, Government, Healthcare, and Housing clients.

The hybrid position will be based in our Minneapolis office.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for leadership, performance, and growth of mixed-use, commercial, and retail markets at LHB. The Studio Leader must be willing and able to advance IDT’s Vision to be the Leader in Creating Regenerative Communities.
The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:
- Client relationship management and business development
- Strategy and execution to achieve key financial performance indicators:
- Revenue Generation/Business Development: $1.68M arch/interiors NSR in 2024
- NSR Growth: 15% annually to $2.5M arch/interiors NSR by 2027
- Profitability: 10% (2024) growing to 13% by 2026
- Contract management, including oversight of proposals, project contracts, and amendments
- Managing the talent development and leadership pipeline to ensure studio needs are met now and in the future
- Participation in industry and community organizations to elevate visibility of LHB
- Ensuring LHB QA/QC processes are followed
- Oversight of billing and collections
Minimum Qualifications
- Minnesota licensed architect or Minnesota certified interior designer, with the ability to become licensed in other states
- 10+ years’ experience in architecture or interior design
- 5+ years’ experience as a supervisor
- Must be willing to travel intermittently
- Demonstrated experience in business development and client relationship management in mixed-use, commercial, and retail markets
- Demonstrated ability in staff development and nurturing team culture
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work successfully with other LHB staff, including our Internal Services Team and other Business Units
Preferred Qualifications
- LHB Shareholder or commitment to pursue shareholder nomination within three years
