Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
A place for infants
This new NICU provides 18 private patient rooms, with two pair of adjacent rooms configured with partition walls that permit them to be opened into larger, double rooms for families with multiple infants.
These private rooms provide privacy and control the acoustic, thermal, and light levels appropriate for infant health and development. The private patient rooms include sleep sofas, recliners, storage, and refrigerators, allowing families to remain with their infants at all times.
Eleven decentralized nursing stations are located along the corridor and directly outside each patient room. These nurse workstations have windows and computers to allow staff to monitor and view the infants from outside the room. Staff support spaces are centralized within the unit and include a nurse work area, storage, soiled and clean utility, and med room.
