St. Philip’s Garden
An Affordable Refresh
The redevelopment of the seven buildings that make up St. Philip’s Garden preserved existing affordable housing in this St. Paul neighborhood while at the same time transforming a deteriorating site into a vibrant and appealing home for its residents. Extensive updates to the building exteriors introduced color, warmth, and detail to the aging buildings and interior renovations of the 56 units improved livability, durability, and energy efficiency.
The renovation of two apartment buildings and five townhome buildings was carefully planned in a phased manner to minimize the need for resident relocation. The 57,889-square-foot development preserves much needed affordable housing for households with incomes at or below 60% of AMI.
