A Creek Runs Through It

A prominent, formerly blighted site in Duluth was transformed into an attractive 52-unit affordable apartment building with a mix of one and two bedroom units to serve the Duluth community.  Several of the units are designated for youth experiencing homelessness. High quality design and commanding views of Lake Superior help this building enhance the curb appeal of the neighborhood while providing a welcoming place for residents to live, close to services and amenities. The building is designed to meet Energy Star standards with an energy efficient building envelope and mechanical systems along with photo-voltaic panels on the roof, which will assist the building with remaining affordable to operate for years to come. Part of the redevelopment project included preservation of an existing historic tunnel on one end of the property which serves to direct a buried portion of the Brewery Creek through the site to outlet at Lake Superior.
