Bimosedaa

Let’s Walk Together

This adaptive reuse project, created through a partnership between Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative and the Red Lake Nation, converted the historically designated Film Exchange Building (also known as the Rockler Fur Building) in Minneapolis into a supportive housing apartment building serving individuals who have moved out of homelessness. Bimosedaa, which translates to English as, “Let’s Walk Together,” provides culturally relevant on-site support fitted to the needs of the Native community. The building is comprised of 42 apartments, along with office, meeting and gathering spaces. Residents have access to supportive services on site, and with the downtown location also have easy access to multiple bus and light rail lines along with other services and amenities that the location offers.
