An exciting project is taking shape in Marine on St. Croix! Residents and staff are working together on the next steps to deliver significant improvements to the city’s iconic Village Hall.
The Village Hall is the oldest village hall in Minnesota still being used for governmental purposes, and also houses the community library. The Village Hall was built in 1888 in Marine Mills, one of the earliest settlements on the St. Croix River. In 1912, Marine Mills changed its name to Marine on St. Croix, a beautiful river town nestled on the eastern banks of the St. Croix River.
LHB is leading the design for the anticipated restoration project, which will enhance the space, making it more enjoyable, safe, and efficient for both work and visits. The proposed building upgrades include 1,400 sq. ft. of renovations aimed at:
- Improving accessibility
- Adding private offices, meeting spaces, and reception areas
- Updating restrooms and kitchenette
We’re proud to partner with the community and the Marine Restoration Society to preserve the historic character of this building while ensuring it meets the growing needs of the community. Stay tuned for more details!
