Substation Improvements & PDC Replacement

The Winter Street Substation Improvements project focused on replacing two outdated control buildings with a single Power Delivery Center (PDC) as well as grading and drainage improvements across the site. To accommodate construction, the Winter Street site was expanded to make room for a new PDC. Electrical upgrades to the station included the addition of a breaker, the leveling of two transformers, improved switch operators, new static masts and shield wires for lightning protection, and site lighting. LHB provided project management support for this project and previously designed the SPCC containment system for this substation site.
