Aging infrastructure and deteriorating conditions on the historic 10th Avenue bridge in Minneapolis led to a multiple stakeholder and agency coordinated project to rehabilitate the bridge and associated infrastructure, including a CenterPoint gas main suspended from the bridge. The project scope included removal of suspended utilities and design of new dual gas mains under the bridge. Detailed stress analysis resulted in multiple expansion loops and 180 pipe supports along the 2,600 feet of installed gas pipe.
