Jason Mangan

Jason is CEO of LHB, the fifth person to hold the position since the firm was established in 1966. A mechanical engineer by training, he is a natural problem solver who is drawn to complex challenges. Over his decades-long career, Jason has managed onsite projects at industrial, pipeline, and power companies. Prior to joining LHB’s executive team, Jason served as vice president of the firm’s Energy & Industry team, working with clients in pulp and paper, mining and heavy manufacturing, oil and gas, and power and utilities. He is committed to helping clients in every sector as they navigate the energy transition and in recent years he has shaped and managed LHB’s strategies for expanding work in solar, wind, and biomass energy production and transmission. He is also deeply familiar with the design, installation, and operation of pipelines and power infrastructure.

LHB Technical Staffing LLC

Jason has served on LHB’s board of directors since 2016, and is co-president of LHB Technical Staffing, a wholly owned subsidiary that provides contract technical staffing to firms in need of assistance with engineering, project management, construction services, and drafting.

Driven to Lead

Jason is particularly passionate about mentorship opportunities and ongoing professional education. As a representative of LHB, he has been involved in a range of activities to fund scholarships, expand STEM education, and build skills among young professionals. He is a member of the engineering department’s Industry Advisory Board at the University of Minnesota Duluth and serves as a volunteer mentor for the high-school robotics team in Cloquet, where he grew up and still lives with his family. He is a past member of the City of Cloquet Planning Commission and an assistant scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 171.
