Doug Kerfeld

Doug Kerfeld leads projects with a genuine desire to understand what communities need from transportation systems. That people-first approach shapes the way he builds trust with clients, local and state governments, tribal nations, and others. Colleagues value his steady demeanor and clear communication.

Doug has nearly two decades of experience in transportation infrastructure design, most recently as project management team leader for MnDOT District 1, guiding complex highway, bridge, and multi-modal corridor improvement projects. He has managed major public and stakeholder engagement efforts, successfully led various projects through all phases of development, and navigated such comprehensive project challenges as environmental documentation, right-of-way acquisition and environmental permitting.

Today at LHB, he brings both technical rigor and honest communication to projects across Minnesota, from river crossings to multi-modal urban reconstructs to rural safety improvements.
