Time with LHB:
13 years

What’s your favorite LHB project you’ve worked on?
Carleton College’s Cassat and James Residence Halls. Carleton is in my home town of Northfield so I was proud to work on a project of significance in my former backyard. In addition, Carleton had ambitious sustainability goals for these two buildings. I enjoyed leading the process to achieve their goals as well as being the first LEED NC Gold Certified residence halls in Minnesota.

Why do Performance Services matter?
A research-based approach allows us to design holistic systems that enhance human and ecological wellness.

If you weren’t an Architect what would you be doing?
Urban planner, travel writer, or artist

Quick Bio:
My strong belief in social and environmental justice led me to focus my Master’s thesis through my career in architecture on creating a sustainable built environment for all. LHB has long had a reputation for our leadership in sustainable/healthy building design. We have often debated the idea that a separate group is needed to focus on Performance Services since we aspire to achieve high-performance goals on all our projects. Recently, it became more clear that dedicating a small group of LHB architects, landscape architects, and engineers to creating the Performance Services Group will enable us to focus on achieving our ultimate goal of creating places that restore, renew, and revitalize our environment. I am happy to lead this passionate group of people.
