LHB Announces Promotions

Minnesota and Wisconsin – November 23, 2020 – LHB, Inc. is pleased to announce the following promotions and appointments:

Brian Santori, PE has been appointed Principal. With more than 15 years of experience, Brian leads multidisciplinary design teams specializing in the design of process, power and hazardous liquid and natural gas transmission piping systems for pipeline and industrial clients. Brian earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and is a licensed Professional Engineer in seven states.

Sara Phillips, AIA has been appointed Principal. A licensed Architect in Minnesota and Wisconsin, Sara joined LHB in 2006 and leads the firm’s Higher Education Studio. She is a LEED Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council and received her Bachelor of Architecture from Iowa State University. Sara’s recent work includes renovations to Carleton College’s Music Hall and numerous projects for the Minnesota State, University of Minnesota, and University of Wisconsin systems.

Brad Scott, PE has been named Principal and Business Unit Leader of the Public Works, Structures, and Survey group. Brad is a graduate of the University of Alaska and has been with LHB for over 14 years. He has 22 years’ experience as a civil engineer specializing in the management and design of transportation, building site and utility design projects. Brad recently led LHB’s roadway design group with the design of Duluth’s downtown Superior Street reconstruction project and the reconstruction of TH 61 in Grand Marais, MN.

Jon Siiter, PE has been named Principal and leader of LHB’s Structures Group which houses our bridge and building structures design practices. Jon is a graduate of North Dakota State University and has been with LHB for over 28 years. As a structural engineer Jon has specialized in the design, load capacity analysis and rehabilitation of Bridges. His recent work includes leading LHB’s bridge design team in the design of a large flyover bridge linking traffic from I535 in Wisconsin to I35 southbound as part of the Twin Ports Interchange project and he is presently leading the team on a preservation design project for the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis.

Brad and Jon join Jason Mangan, PE, LHB’s Pipeline/ Industrial Business Unit Leader and Mike Fischer, AIA, LEED AP, LHB’s Integrated Design Team Business Unit Leader in the Leadership of LHB’s three primary Business Units. Together they drive project delivery, ensure alignment with client goals, and help guide policy and new initiatives with LHB’s Leadership Team.

LHB has also made changes to its Operations Team. Brad Scott, along with Lori Thompson and Jean Farmakes have been appointed to serve on LHB’s Operations Team which oversees all operational policy including project performance, budgeting, insurance, liability, and other key areas of functionality.  

Lori Thompson, Controller, leads LHB’s finance group and has been with the company for over 31 years. She works closely with the Leadership Team and Business Unit Leaders on budgeting, project billing, revenue projections, financial analyses, and financial trends. Lori is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

Jean Farmakes, JD, CDT, holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law school and is LHB’s General Counsel. Jean has over 17 years of legal experience and has been with LHB for over six years. She guides the firm in policy creation and implementation, contracting processes, risk management and has expertise in state and federal law.
