Thanks to the success and hard work of the Hope Farm School community, this unique, year-round Christian boys’ school is growing — doubling its enrollment from 16 to 32 students. To support this exciting growth, the school is expanding its facilities this summer.
LHB is providing architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural (Sandman Structural Engineers) design services. The location was originally a working farm, and the school has capitalized on its unique location and character to create a campus and program focused on responsibility, hard work, and hands-on learning. The design team worked diligently to reflect the unique style and use of each building, creating environments that inspire learning, improve efficiency, and reflect the school’s mission. Included in this project:
- Red Barn: A new 1,250 square foot woodshop addition, along with insulating and finishing the bike program’s workshop, is part of the scope. An accessible restroom will also be added for students and staff. The expansion and upgrades will allow students to build, create, and grow as they use the hands-on learning space to further develop their trades and technical skills.
- White Barn: The former woodshop will be renovated into a flexible, student-centered learning hub with new classrooms, offices, and an open space for independent study. The redesigned root cellar and storage area will include an expanded cellar, laundry space, supply storage, and accessible toilets. The learning spaces are designed for natural light, views of the farm, and flexibility for future expansion.
- Green Barn: The recreational gymnasium building will expand its offerings with a 2,400 square foot multipurpose fitness center addition, designed in a simple shed style to complement the existing structure. Large windows and wide doors will bring in natural light and allow easy equipment access. The entry mud room expansion will house student belongings and a change of shoes — enhancing both function and flow for students. The multipurpose fitness center will accommodate equipment and board games that support student wellness.
- Bunkhouse Expansions: Scheduled for 2026, the living quarters will expand to accommodate the increase in enrollment as well as volunteer housing. A new boys bunkhouse facility will be built on site. Existing residences will be renovated, factoring in accessibility and comfort.
Hope Farm School offers boys ages 14–19 an education that blends classroom learning with hands-on work on a year-round farm. Supporting real-world learning, 75% of what is consumed on campus is grown, preserved, and even sometimes sold to the community.
The school is completely tuition-free. Everything — from teaching and learning to room, board, operations, and campus expansion — is fully funded by generous donations. Every dollar helps create life-changing opportunities for these young men. Consider donating to help Hope Farm School continue planting seeds of opportunity.
