Jean Farmakes

Jean serves as LHB’s inhouse counsel, providing advice to the firm’s leadership team on topics ranging from risk management and contracts to employment law and general corporate governance. After graduating law school, she spent more than a decade working for the Minnesota Court of Appeals, a Minneapolis law firm, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Chicago before returning to the Duluth area, where she grew up. She appreciates complexities inherent in design and construction projects and enjoys untangling the legal issues associated with the building process. LHB’s widespread impact across the Duluth region—beautiful buildings, safe infrastructure—inspires her every day.
