Anselm House: Redefining Community Through Thoughtful Design
Discover a Place Designed for You
LHB transformed Melrose Station’s entry and lower level into the central hub for Anselm House’s programs, staff, and community. The design integrates faith and knowledge for University of Minnesota students and faculty, creating a cohesive, open, and bright space for gatherings, study groups, and seminars. Prioritizing functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal, our team crafted an inspirational environment that fosters meaningful connections.
A Warm Welcome
The newly renovated reception area at Anselm House welcomes students and faculty with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Conveniently located across from the reception desk, a refreshment bar offers quick snacks and drinks. Comfortable seating provides a tranquil space for studying or waiting. The design balances both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Nothing Common About It
The commons area is a student favorite, featuring cozy soft seating for intimate conversations and a live edge table ideal for group work, Wisdom Waffles, prayer events, open houses, and studying. Nearby small and mid-sized rooms provide perfect spaces for activities like reading groups, study sessions, and Bible study. This thoughtfully designed space supports individual and group activities.
The Perfect Spot
The staircase area is as a popular spot for students to study and socialize, offering a variety of seating options. With tables and chairs, bar-height seating along the wall, and cozy nooks, students can read, collaborate, eat, or enjoy quiet reflection. Our designers created a versatile, functional, and welcoming space for everyone.
